ANALOG: Trends in Sounds.

Today we had a brilliant afternoon at the Riflemaker Gallery in London recording with Lewis Durham of Kitty, Daisy & Lewis. This was no ordinary recording session though, it was recorded entirely on mono recording equipment and cut straight on to a 10” vinyl as we played! The microphones, desk, preamps and recording lathe all date back to the period between the 1930s and early 1950s when music was recorded in mono straight to disc.

We recorded two version of a new song we’ve been working on called ‘Pricilla and James’; one version normally and one a capella version.  The takes were both live and cut straight onto the disc so there was no room for mistakes!

We’ll be uploading the results over the next few days. We had a lot of fun working with Lewis and it was great to try out a different way of recording. The exhibition is open until March 5th so there’s still time to try it for yourself! The details can be found here:
